Supporting our mob’s social and emotional wellbeing in the digital space: WellMob online resources

This webinar looks at how the online space can support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in their health and wellbeing journey. It explores the WellMob website and how online resources that are made by, and for, First Nations people can play a role in drug use disorders and general healing and recovery.

The WellMob website is based on the holistic concept of Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB). SEWB recognises the importance of culture, community and kin in First Nations wellbeing and the ongoing impact of colonisation including social disadvantage, racism and discrimination. The website focuses on linking resources that are strengths-based, in plain language and consider the importance of culture as a protective health factor.

The webinar goes through the online SEWB resources available for:

  • First Nations people in recovery from drug use disorder which provide connection to culture and motivation for change
  • Practitioners, health educators and carers to provide trauma aware, healing informed and culturally safe care and support for First Nations clients.

Presented by David Edwards, a Worimi man and health educator, and Dr Mim Weber, a non-Indigenous mental health trainer on Tuesday 11th of March 2025. This webinar contains information for practitioners, educators, First Nations people and their loved ones interested in learning more about SEWB and using resources available on WellMob.
